Nutcracker Outreach with Eagle View School
My name is Mickey Gunter and I, along with my wife Nancy, are the owners of Centralia Ballet Academy. This December 11-13, we are bringing our full length production of The Nutcracker to the Yelm High School Performing Arts Center. Whenever we bring our show to a community outside of our area, we partner with a local school to give students, ages 8 and older, the opportunity to learn ballet and perform in the show. This year, we will be working with Eagle View to give your children this opportunity. Here are the basics of this program:
We will start with a meeting/audition on Thursday September 17 at 4 PM. We should be done at 5:30 PM.
Class/rehearsal will start the following Thursday, September 14 at 4 PM. These will be hour long classes/rehearsals.
There will be no cost to participate in this program, but students must buy the required dress code dancewear; the dress code for girls are pink leotard, skin tone tights, and pink leather ballet shoes; for boys it's a compression shirt, black footed tights, and black leather ballet shoes.
Centralia Ballet will place the order for the dance wear; we do this at cost and make no profit it.
Practices are once a week and are mandatory; having more than one unexcused absence will result in being removed from the program.
There will be a dress rehearsal at the HS theater on Friday Dec 11, and two performances on Saturday Dec 12, and one on Sunday Dec 13
Participants and their family members will receive free tickets to see CBA's Nutcracker on the weekend of Dec 5 & 6 at Centralia College's Corbet Theater.
Participants and their families will also be invited to our cast party
